Disentangling LiDAR Contribution in Modelling Species–Habitat Structure Relationships in Terrestrial Ecosystems Worldwide. A Systematic Review and Future Directions

چکیده
Global biodiversity is threatened by unprecedented and increasing anthropogenic pressures, including habitat loss fragmentation. LiDAR can become a decisive technology providing accurate information about the linkages between ecosystem structure. Here, we review current use of metrics in ecological studies regarding birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, bryophytes, lichens, fungi (BLF). We quantify types research (ecosystem sources) describe platforms data that are currently available. also categorize harmonize into five morphological traits (canopy cover, height vertical distribution, understory shrubland, topographic traits) their effectiveness across taxonomic groups ecosystems. The literature returned 173 papers met our criteria. Europe North America held most studies, birds were studied group, whereas temperate forest was far represented ecosystem. Globally, canopy used trait, especially ecosystems, cover terrain topography performed better those ecosystems where they mapped. Understory structure shrubland together with showed high for less such as BLF invertebrates open landscapes. Our results show how has greatly contributed to mapping, organisms poorly until recently, BLF. Finally, discuss forthcoming opportunities mapping different combination spectral information. advocate (i) integration spaceborne already available airborne (airplane, drones) terrestrial technology, (ii) coupling it multispectral/hyperspectral information, which will allow exploration analyses new species

متن کاملAflatoxins and aflatoxigenic fungi in Iran: A systematic review of the past, present, and future
Aflatoxins are highly toxic compounds that are produced as secondary metabolites by some Aspergillus and Emericella species. Despite huge progress on aflatoxin research during the past 50 years, we have witnessed many cases of food contamination with aflatoxins all over the world. Aflatoxins have mutagenic and carcinogenic effects and they are capable of inducing hepatocellular carcinoma in hum...
متن کاملWorldwide inequality in production of systematic reviews
Background: Investment in science is vital for the development and well-being of societies. This study aims to assess the scientific productivity of countries by quantifying their publication of systematic reviews taking the gross national income per capita (GNIPC) into account. Methods: Medline and ISI Web of Science were searched for systematic reviews published between 1st January 2006 an...
متن کاملA short review of fecal indicator bacteria in tropical aquatic ecosystems: knowledge gaps and future directions
Given the high numbers of deaths and the debilitating nature of diseases caused by the use of unclean water it is imperative that we have an understanding of the factors that control the dispersion of water borne pathogens and their respective indicators. This is all the more important in developing countries where significant proportions of the population often have little or no access to clea...
